Annual General Meeting (2006)

As a non-for-profit corporation, LOSURS is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Among other business, the AGM includes elections for half of the Board of Directors, and the presenting of the corporation's financial statements for the preceding fiscal year.

Our 2006 AGM took place on Sunday, October 29th, 2006 at 2:30pm in the usual meeting room at Brown Communications (2275 Albert Street).

Elections for the Board of Directors

LOSURS directors are elected for two-year terms, and the terms are staggered so that half of the board is up for re-election each year. This year, there were only three candiates, so the new board was selected by acclamation. Mike Warnecke returns for another term, and Jim MacKenzie and Alex Marz join the board Existing board members Scott Wunsch, Stacey Worrall and Andrew Kerr still had another year remaining on their terms. In the end, the new LOSURS Board of Directors is as follows:

• Scott Wunsch (President)
• Stacey Worrall (Vice President)
• Jim MacKenzie (Secretary)
• Andrew Kerr
• Mike Warnecke
• Alex Marz

Andrew Kerr was again informally dubbed the social director, and Alex Marz has taken on responsibility for organizing monthly meeting presentations.

Financial Statements

The LOSURS Secretary, Scott Wunsch, has prepared the usual set of financial statements for the fiscal year ending September 30^th, 2006. In addition to the copy available online, printed copies will be distributed at the AGM.

In keeping with the decision made at the last AGM, this year our financial statements have also been audited by an external auditor, Devon Hack.
