As a non-for-profit corporation, LOSURS is required to hold at least one General Meeting every thirteen months. This is the Annual General Meeeting (AGM). Among other business, the AGM includes elections for half of the Board of Directors, and the presenting of the corporation's financial statements for the preceding fiscal year.
Our first AGM took place on Sunday, October 26th, 2003 at 2:00pm in room ED616 at the University of Regina.
At the AGM, we approved LOSURS Bylaw No. 1 (A Bylaw to Regulate Generally the Business and Affairs of the Linux/Open Source Users of Saskatchewan (LOSURS) Inc.), with amendments. The final bylaw, with amendments incorporated, is now available.
We also elected a new Board of Directors to direct the organization for the next year. The new Board is as follows:
- Scott Wunsch (President)
- Stacey Worrall (Vice President)
- Mark Humphreys (Secretary)
- Garett Harnish
- Doug Machan
- Bob Horton
Doug Machan was also informally dubbed the social director, and has already begun discussing a LOSURS Christmas party.
More complete minutes of the AGM are available for those who are interested, thanks to Garett Harnish, our previous Secretary.
