Annual General Meeting (2007)

As a non-for-profit corporation, LOSURS is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Among other business, the AGM includes elections for half of the Board of Directors, and the presenting of the corporation's financial statements for the preceding fiscal year.

Our 2007 AGM took place on Sunday, November 25th, 2007 at 2:00pm in board room at Access Communications (2250 Park Street).

Elections for the Board of Directors

LOSURS directors are elected for two-year terms, and the terms are staggered so that half of the board is up for re-election each year. Elections were held, with the result that Scott Wunsch returns for another term, and Summer Hartzfeld and Mike Winsor join the board. Existing board members Scott Wunsch, Stacey Worrall and Andrew Kerr still had another year remaining on their terms. In the end, the new LOSURS Board of Directors is as follows:

• Mike Warnecke (President)
• Summer Hartzfeld (Vice President)
• Jim MacKenzie (Secretary)
• Michal Winsor
• Alex Marz
• Scott Wunsch

Alex Marz was informally dubbed the social director, and Michal Winsor has taken on responsibility for organizing monthly meeting presentations.

Financial Statements

The LOSURS Secretary, Jim MacKenzie, has prepared the usual set of financial statements for the fiscal year ending September 30^th, 2007. In addition to the copy available online, printed copies will be distributed at the AGM.

In keeping with the decision made at the last AGM, this year our financial statements have also been reviewed by an external reviewer.
