LOSURS

Annual General Meeting (2008)

Quick Links: Board Nominees, Financial Statements, Minutes

As a non-for-profit corporation, LOSURS is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Among other business, the AGM includes elections for half of the Board of Directors, and the presenting of the corporation's financial statements for the preceding fiscal year.

Our 2008 AGM took place behind schedule on Sunday, May 25th, 2009 at 1:30pm in the board room at Access Communications (2250 Park Street).

Elections for the Board of Directors

LOSURS directors are elected for two-year terms, and the terms are staggered so that half of the board is up for re-election each year. Mike Winsor also resigned mid-term shortly before the AGM, so we had a fourth position to fill for a half-term. We had four nominees, so the new board members were selected by acclamation. Alex Marz returns for another term, and Bernie Cohen and Bill Brown join him for two-year terms, with Kevin Mack taking the vacant one-year remainder of a term. Existing board members Scott Wunsch and Summer Hartzfeld have another year remaining on their terms. In the end, the new LOSURS Board of Directors is as follows:

Summer Hartzfeld was informally dubbed the social director, and Kevin Mack has taken on responsibility for organizing monthly meeting presentations.

Financial Statements

The LOSURS Secretary, Jim MacKenzie, has prepared the usual set of financial statements for the fiscal year ending September 30th, 2008. In addition to the copy available online, printed copies were be distributed at the AGM.

In keeping with the decision made at a previous AGM, this year our financial statements have also been checked over by an external party.

Complete minutes of the meeting are available for members' perusal.
